Writing Good EBay Titles For Liquidation Women’s Clothing

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

As you prepare to list your items for sale on eBay, do you know what you should call your listing? A lot of people come up with a quick title for their eBay listing and then move on to the description, hoping to explain better what they are selling inside. After all, what can you really tell someone in just one line, right?

Unfortunately, if you don’t have the right title on your eBay listing, no one is going to find it. That means no one is going to read past it to get to your description, and they are not going to be bidding on what you are trying to sell.

Here’s what you need to think about when you are listing items on eBay.

What Are You Selling?

In how few words can you really explain what you are selling, with enough detail to get the attention of someone who wants to buy it? With millions of listings for women’s liquidation clothing out there, just putting ‘women’s blouse’ is not going to get you a lot of response. People want to know more specifically what you are selling before they will open your auction item to look more closely. So make sure to put a few descriptive words in such as the fabric or style and cut of the piece.

The best way to think about this is to think about what you would search for if you were going to buy the same item you are selling. You may even want to try it once or twice to see what comes up when you use search words you think you should be using.

What Size Is It?

One of the first things people look for when purchasing clothing on eBay is the size of the clothing. They want to know if something will fit them before they ever click on the listing to see more.

Who Made it?

Do you have a designer piece that you are selling? Make sure to mention the designer’s name in the title as some people who purchase clothing on eBay are specifically looking for designer labels.

Research, Research, Research

The key to understanding how to list you items on eBay is to really get to know this outlet for selling. The more time you spend on eBay seeing how other people are selling the same type of items, and seeing which ones are selling and which one’s aren’t the more ideas you will get on how to best list your items to make a profit.
